Senior Accountant - German Speaker (m/f/d) - Berlin/hybrid

To achieve our mission Numa is building a proprietary technology and data platform connecting hospitality services, real estate and guest experiences. For our Accounting team, we are looking for a smart, diligent and experienced accounting professional to whom we can entrust the accounting of our major entities (apartments, holding and sub-holdings).

• Overseeing our entire account process while executing monthly closing procedures of our legal entitites and locations (while respecting closing deadlines, of course)

• Developing our accounting procedures and improving accuracy across the board, including dealing with asset booking, accrual management and deferred income

• Turbocharging the quality of monthly/quarterly closings to achieve readiness for audit and transition to IFRS

• Taking ownership of the balance sheets for your entities and anticipating/running corrects where needed

• Advising the company on complex accounting topics and clarifying concepts where needed, including issues around launch phases, intercompany and international transactions

• Sculpting and training your junior colleagues in daily accounting tasks while giving valuable input to your teamlead to continuously improve our accounting setup

• Collaborating closely with internal terms and external accounting providers to manage the exchange of necessary data, checking and supporting the completion of tasks and open question

• Welcoming accounting questions both simple and detailed as our go-to guru for all things related to your entities 

• Education: University diploma with a background in Business Administration or trained/certified accountant/Bilanzbuchhalter 

• Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in Accounting, ideally in a digital/ start-up environment

• Skills: You must have experience in effectively comprehending and resolving complex issues and the ability to understand and closely work with multiple internal and external stakeholders. We’re looking for someone experienced in HGB standard, though experience in IFRS is a big plus. Basic knowledge in consolidation is a huge asset! As our Senior Accountant, you must be a proficient user of standard accounting software (e.g. NAV, DATEV/Netsuite/Lucanet would be a plus). Additionally, you must be business fluent in German and English. Any further language knowledge is a bonus

• Characteristics: We’re looking for someone who is a self-driven, hands-on, solution-oriented team player.  You’ll need to be methodical and exhibit a high attention to detail. If you’re a good communicator and able to work between teams with ease, it’s even better

• Availability: As this is a full-time position, you’ll need to have availability of at least 40 hours per week
