Intern - Copywriter (m/w/d) (English)




About numa

As a primary copywriter for numa, you’ll be responsible for writing regular, engaging content that converts well across various mediums and channels. You’ll work directly with the Content Manager (lucky you!) and cross-functionally with other relevant teams to provide quality B2C copy for everything related to our properties, including web pages, online travel agency (OTA) profiles and room descriptions. We’re looking for a strong, capable writer who can consistently whip out natural-sounding, light-hearted texts with short turnaround times. You’ve got to be able to match our company’s tone of voice (cleverness is key) and being open to feedback is an absolute must (because our Content Manager is full of opinions). We’re aiming for greater visibility, higher conversion rates and an overall excellent web presence!

At the end of the day, this role is all about speaking directly to our guests, telling them exactly what they need to know and why they should choose us. With a wide variety of channels and targeted personas, you’ll need to be adaptive and put that beautiful brain to use in order to rise above the noise.

Lastly, you’ll use your knowledge of the DACH region and your German-English skills to charm and woo our digital German-speaking visitors. With your wisdom and insight, you’ll form the backbone of a country-specific team, devising strategies for increasing engagement through content. It’s a lot, we know, but the responsibilities—and opportunities—are numerous!

Your mission

-Develop and write original copy for external marketing use
-Create location pages, OTA profiles, room descriptions and more
-Maintain & optimise guest communication, including our email and SMS series
-Work closely with our Distribution team to make sure their OTA needs are met
-Update & revise content at a moment’s notice
-Work closely with our Launch team, ensuring properties have all the content they need to welcome guests & enable bookings
-Coordinate the translation of our written content into other languages with our in-house translators
-Ensure content needs are met in a timely manner
-Ensure content is tonally consistent/on-brand, error-free, and sounds natural
-Utilize SEO basics to enhance content reach & engagement
-Analyze conversion/engagement metrics to increase content effectiveness
-Actively evaluate content and optimise by channel

Your profile

-You hold a Bachelor or Masters in Literature, Linguistics, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or any Business-related discipline
-Previous experience as a copywriter or editor
-Able to write strong, engaging and natural-sounding content without obvious grammatical errors
-Experience and strong interest in hospitality/real estate/the tech sphere in the DACH region
-Knowledge or experience in basic digital content marketing concepts, including SEO and on-page metrics
-Confident and passionate about writing
-Creative, witty, and open to new ideas
-Extroverted, friendly, and open to brainstorming/discussions
-Ability to quickly grasp concepts and convey them through text
-Proactive and willing to work independently
-Able to work/communicate in a fast-paced environment
-Open to collaboration and team-based environments
-Handle feedback, constructive criticism, and the occasional harsh edit well
-Can commit to a minimum of 6 months as a intern
-Basic knowledge of Office Word, Excel, and all Google Drive programs
-Fluent in English at a native-speaker level
-Fluent in German
-Based in Berlin
