Arc is a hotel with history, ideal for curious travellers eager to discover Berlin's eclectic lifestyle. Formerly known as Angleterre Hotel, this majestic building was designed by the famous German architect Gustav Knoblauch in the late 19th century. Numa brought to this historical masterpiece a contemporary touch with modern amenities that include equipped kitchenettes and a fast contactless check-in for travellers. Its soft pink and minimal design evoke a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, which will immediately put you in a cosy state of mind after a long day of sightseeing (or dancing) in the German capital! Craving breakfast but still hungover from last Friday night? We got you—Arc's breakfast partner Einstein Coffee will deliver your breakfast goods to your room. All you have to do is select among the breakfast boxes and enjoy it between the soft sheets in your room!
Our newest numa in Kreuzberg is connected well to the rest of the city: the metro and bus Station Kochstraße is just a walk away. You can take the metro line 6 and the buses M26 and N6.
Arc is in Friedrichstraße 31—a busy street between Kreuzberg and Mitte close to Berlin's most famous landmarks like Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt and Brandenburger Tor. If you're curious about new trends in the art world, then you can't miss out on KÖNIG GALERIE and Künstlerhaus Bethanien (pst, they've got free entry). On warmer days, you can take a stroll at Maybach Ufer and watch the sunset at Admiralbrücke while sipping a beer and grabbing a pizza from the pretty popular and buzzing corner pizza place.
There are many restaurants just around the corner from Arc. Babami is a 4-minute walk away and serves authentic Vietnamese in a modern and cosy space close to Checkpoint Charlie—the worldwide famous former crossing point between East and West Berlin. In the mood for something fresh and exotic? Go for MALOA's poké bowls! Walk just 7 minutes and find yourself in a unique location that makes you feel like you're in the tropics!
Berliners love Kreuzberg for its hipster cafes and bars. Close to Arc, you can chill at Café Nullpunkt and try their high-quality roasted coffee and Gaiwan tea. If you're looking for a bar to spend your Berlin weekend at, we recommend looking at SOLAR, where you can admire the skyline while listening to soul tunes and sipping outstanding cocktails.
Let's remember the Berlin clubbing scene. For the party animals reading this blog, you should try KitKat, a hedonistic club with a wild and free culture. Here you'll dance all night long to the best techno tracks, admire the art walls and do out-of-the-ordinary encounters with Berlin's people of the night. For those who enjoy a more intense, 360-degree techno club experience, Berghain is only a few U-Bahn stations away from Arc. But we know Kitty or Hain is only for some, so you'll find Tresor only 2 minutes away from KitKat. At some point, it was one of the most iconic clubs in the 90s Berlin's techno scene, and to this day, it's one of the must-go in Europe's party capital. More into HipHop and R'n'B? Don't worry; we got you covered. Not so far away from Arc, there's Bricks-Club, a fancy location in the basement of the Hilton Hotel in Gendarmenmarkt.
