You won’t find any bouncers, because we want you to stay! Welcome to Sketch, numa’s newest property. Like a rock in the surf, unbothered by the hustle and bustle of the big city, Sketch rises above Berlin’s coolest corner, Friedrichshain. Built in 1911, the red-bricked building that hosts Sketch was once a piano factory, and notes of its colourful history remain within. Sketch is more than a place to stay; it's a way of life. It means standing on the breathtaking Oberbaumbrücke at three in the morning and shouting "I'm a Berliner!" And that’s the local feeling that you experience when you stumble upon a black door with the word "Sketch", surrounded by a web of white graffiti.
At Sketch, historic charm merges with contemporary and eclectic design—just like the Berlin you know and love. Original numa graffiti murals by our resident artist and the abstract art that fills the walls bring the creative Kiez atmosphere to every corner. Though these vibrant Friedrichshain surroundings may feel like a club, you won't find any DJs (unless you're travelling with one)—but there are plenty of good vibes to go around.
As you enter and embark on your completely-digital guest journey, you’ll notice a cool and refreshing feeling which will take you away from your memories of stuff hotel lobbies. At Sketch—like all numa locations, there’s no reception on site. Sure, you’ve got stress-free online check-in and a PIN code to access the building and rooms—but we also save you the hassle of waiting in line (and spare you from those easily-lost key cards!) So you'll be in your beautiful room faster, where we've designed every detail to make you feel right at home.
Super-fast wifi, high-quality premium mattresses, sustainable coffee are just some of the little things that make a big difference. Looking to live like a local? Our bespoke neighbourhood guides will show you the way—the best clubs, bars, cafes, restaurants, parks and museums in the area, just waiting to be explored.
Located in the district of Friedrichshain, you’re in the middle of it all. Whatever you're looking for, you'll find it here: Boutique shopping and flea markets, art galleries and graffiti, cheap beer and chic wine bars, international restaurants and currywurst stalls, techno clubs and farmers markets. Sketch’s neighbourhood is home to many of Berlin's famous landmarks, such as the renowned techno club Berghain, the preserved section of the Berlin Wall, the political murals of the East Side Gallery and the Soviet-era buildings on Karl-Marx-Allee. Those who want to experience Berlin's nightlife should visit the Warschauer Bridge, where unusual venues host extraordinary clubs, and if that's not quite your cup of tea, the artisan-soaked streets are littered with everything quirky. As you approach Sketch, you'll be amazed to find how the neighbourhood perfectly mirrors Berlin's diverse and independent charm.
