5 food experiences you can’t miss
01/2023 - Barbara Keller
Seville, one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, is not only rich in history and astonishing architecture, but also in food culture. The southern Spanish region’s cuisine has a lot to offer and is known to be one of the most praised in the country. It’s no surprise that gastronomy in Seville is extremely popular. For that reason, a large number of tourists travel to the south every year to get a taste of it—and I was one of them. My trip to this beautiful city brought me to numerous mouthwatering places. In this article, I’ll introduce you to my top 5 favourite restaurants in Seville. In case you’ve been wondering where you can enjoy an unforgettable dinner during your time in the Andalusian capital, here's the answer.
Calle Francos, 42, 41004 Seville
This restaurant will not only surprise you with its menu but also with its interior design. It’s located just a few metres away from the city’s famous cathedral, and literally around the corner from our numa property Molina. The restaurant’s cuisine bets on a mix of traditional dishes along with a variety of innovative options, and the best Sangría I’ve tasted in all of Seville. I recommend you go for the white one instead of the classic one—it’s a pleasant surprise, both for your taste buds and your eyes. If your idea of a perfect dinner includes beautifully presented food, soft background music, incredible flavours, and great service, El Pintón is your place.
Calle Rosario, 15, 41004 Seville
This cool tapas bar located in the old town of Seville was opened in 2017 and has been one of the city’s hottest dinner spots ever since. It surprises its guests with creative decor that combines hip elements and historic chic. Concrete-cast art, vertical gardens, and exposed brick arches are just some examples of the many design elements you’ll find here. With cheeky waiters and food that definitely doesn’t disappoint, this place rocks a cool vibe. The menu may be short, but it’s well-chosen. The restaurant offers a wide selection of tasty international interpretations like Hawaiian tuna poké or Vietnamese pulled pork rolls. If you don’t want to come for dinner, just stop by for a mid-afternoon cake or smoothie. Unlike most Spanish bars and restaurants, which usually close for “siesta” in the afternoon, Lobo López is open all day long.
Puente de Triana, Pl. del Altozano, 1, 41010 Seville
Located at the end of the bridge Puente de Triana, Mariatrifulca is the kind of restaurant that makes you wish you could come in for dinner at least once a week. It’s not easy to get a table, so booking in advance is highly recommended. One of the restaurant’s highlights is its rooftop terrace, which overlooks the river Guadalquivir. Mariatrifulca is the perfect place to enjoy an exquisitely prepared dinner in a relaxed environment. Here guests always get spoiled with a wide variety of tempting choices on the menu. Combine all this with the friendly, helpful staff and a welcoming atmosphere—I’d say you definitely can’t miss out on a unique dining experience like this while you’re in beautiful Seville!
Calle Regina, 2, 41003 Seville
If you’re on the hunt for amazing tapas in a great location, Perro Chiko is the perfect place for you. It’s located right next to the famous Las Setas, the largest wooden structure in the world. From the terrace of this modern tapas bar, you have a perfect view of the modern construction in the shape of giant mushrooms. But let’s talk about the actual reason you should come here: food! Among many other mouthwatering tapas and dishes, Perro Chiko offers the best Patatas Bravas I’ve tasted in all of Spain. The atmosphere is young and relaxed, and the staff is friendly—but I guess that’s nothing worth mentioning in sunny Seville. Prices are reasonable, and the food is definitely worth it. The place tends to get quite busy during dinner time, so it's always best to make a reservation.
Paseo de las Delicias, 41012 Seville
La Casa del Estanque is located in an idyllic setting, in the heart of Jardines de las Delicias. It has established itself as one of the most beloved gastronomic and leisure establishments in Seville. This magical dinner spot is surrounded by nature, featuring fountains, statues, and gardens. It offers the best atmosphere for summer nights in the Andalusian capital—including music, premium drinks, and exotic cocktails. You can choose from a menu with more than 40 dishes of Mediterranean cuisine with touches of other international cuisines, such as Asian. The grilled meats, fresh fish, and seasonal products of the highest quality are prepared with great care so that guests can enjoy them with all five senses.
Are you tempted to book a flight to Seville now? I thought so…
